These were taken between The KS-NE state line and Rock Creek Station, Southwest of Fairbury NE.  Here are some pictures from the ride on Tuesday, June 11th.  These were taken by my daughter-in-law Mandi Hill.  They are: my son Richie Hill when he picks up the mochila from the Kansas riders.   Then, my grandson Blake’s first solo ride and finally grandma rides….that’s me, Debra S. Hill.

The California Division participated in the 8th Annual Clarksville Day, Saturday, May 4, 2019.  Eight members served 5 hours at the open air event.  They had two tables and several displays set up to tell the Pony Express story. They were among a couple of dozen historical and community groups to participate.  2000 plus people attended the event and many made their way to the California Division tables with questions and comments about the Pony Express. Jeff Cauhape K7BCV, Sue Cauhape KI7CTT, Justin Nunn KI7CGJ, and Mary Nunn KI7CGI followed the Pony section that went from Cold Springs to Railroad Pass over Basque Summit of the Desatoya Range. Jeff was looking forward to not having to set up camp and a station on some blustery mountaintop. “RIDE FOR THE BRAND!!  What an honor to get to participate in a slice of American History this past week.  From 1860 -1861 the US Mail was carried between St Joseph MO & Sacramento CA by the PONY EXPRESS.  Each year in June over 750 riders, riding 24/7, participate in the re-ride carrying the mail 1966 miles in 10 days.  The NPEA is a world class organization that has coordinated the re-ride for 40 years.  A big thank you to Les Bennington, Ron &  Kathy L.
