My husband and I work at the Fort Bridger State Historic Site for the summer. This is our third season. We have enjoyed watching the Pony Express Re-Ride. We watched from Piedmont to Fort Bridger. Thank you and your organization for doing the re-ride. It was awesome. A big Thank You to the riders. Anita and Paul Ishman

Interesting Tidbits

I believe that when the riders crossed under the overpass of I25 (North of Casper) they were at the very northernmost part of the re-ride trail. Also, at midnight last night they were at the highest elevation of the trail. The highest elevation of the original trail is between Rock Creek and Strawberry Creek. (South and East of Atlantic City).

We got to meet a pony and rider today at Green River. My daughter Anibel is a horse lover and was so exited to see this event happen while we were on our trip west today. Thank you so much for letting her be a part of this momentous occasion  by petting the horse (sorry but we forgot the name she called him Spirit). If you could send us back that information that would be great. I have included a picture and you guys are welcome to post our story and, Continue Reading

Pony Express: we had something different this year at Martins Cove

Pony Express: we had something different this year at Martins Cove which is a retreat destination for the Morman faith with a huge amount of history behind it regarding Brigham Young and their western movement into Utah. Anyway, Paula and I were waiting in the dark for our rider to arrive when all of a sudden walking up the road towards us were some 30 to 40 people with lanterns. It was midnight. They were staying in the campground and had stayed up to meet us and watch the exchange., Continue Reading

The central area of Wyoming got the mail through to Jeffery City. I loved being with all of the riders. We had some good riders this year. The girls this year were exceptional. Having Rick Alt did not hurt us either. It was fun for all of us. We reached Jeffery City by 6:00 A.M. Took a day to recoup but now I’m back to normal. Abbigail was Abbigail. I saved her for the highway and Martins Cove all in the dark. She gave me everything I asked for. “SPEED, Continue Reading

Ride by Farson, Wyoming

FROM: Janet Hartford

Had great weather and awesome rides just west of Farson, MM 114 to 112. The cut-across road between the La Barge Hwy and Granger that was the best! Dirt, no bottles to dodge, just one badger hole… in the road! Is amazing that we ride the same trail as the Pony Express, Oregon Trail, Mormon Trail, and California Trail!
