“Map Lite” App: 2023 Pony Express Annual Re-Ride Rider App (arcgis.com)
This mapping app takes out some of the layers displayed in the regular map and automatically has the NOAA weather layer on. Riders and support personnel along the trail may find this handier to use and quicker to load.
RIDER UPDATES:
June 8, 5:40am PDT: Overnight there were difficulties with pinger, seems to be resolved now. A rider came off a horse right out of Sacramento. Rough start, but hang in there, everyone!
Jun 8, 9:45am PDT: Caldor Fire issues, plus tons of snow still on mountains has caused California some challenges. Team Pegasus came to the rescue from Kyburz Dump to Celio Ranch. The Pony is back on track now. Will keep you apprised of any further challenges!
June 8, 3:44pm PDT: Nevada flooding has caused a change in route. From Ft. Churchill, Pony will go north to Hwy 50, then through Fallon and onto Sand Springs, back to the planned route.

When the Re-Ride is upon us – The mail leaves Old Sacramento on June 7th at 2:00 PM PDT and arrives in at the Patee House in St. Joseph, MO, on June 17th at 7:30 PM CDT.

- Real Time tracking on the Follow the Ride Map.
The Mochila is carrying a ‘Find Me Spot’ device (Pinger), it is located at the back of the Mochila in a small pouch.
