STATUS: At 7:27 PDT, the Pony was riding through Horton, KS, running about 45 minutes behind schedule.

STATUS: The mail is moving right along in Kansas a little behind schedule with the heat and humidity. Now that it's cooling off this should help the horses and riders.

STATUS: The Pony left the Patee House in St. Joseph on time, at 3:00pm CDT.

STATUS: The Pony is getting ready to Ride!! First Rider leaves at 3:00pm CDT from the Patee House in St. Joe. Also, before the Rider heads out, a celebration of the first-day issue of 5 new horse stamps will be held at 2:00pm by the United States Postal Service in conjunction with the 164th anniversary of the Pony Express!
