A facelift was already in the works for an 83-year-old statue Downtown, but a recent act of vandalism gives all the more reason for renovations.

The Pony Express Monument at Ninth Street and Frederick Avenue was installed in 1940 and has stood proud ever since, commemorating the trail of mail service stretching from St. Joseph through California from 1860-61.
