News From: NPEA Nevada Division
The Pony Express was a massive operation that began in 1860 to satisfy the demand for a fast mail service. Though it only lasted 18 months, it is still romanticized throughout the west today. Bring a chair and join a Park Ranger for a history talk on the Pony Express. Learn about its beginnings, the legends and why it didn’t last long. This is a great way to learn about the history of the Pony Express before the official re-ride comes through the area later in June!
The free program will be at 3 p.m. June 11. Meet inside the wagon shed at Mormon Station State Historic Park. All ages are welcome.
