KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – In this week’s Destination Heartland, we are headed north to St. Joseph, home of Chiefs Training Camp.

Training camp kicked off July 22 at Missouri Western State University. It’s an experience unlike any other as the team stays local and it gives fans a chance to see their favorite Chiefs players up close without have to travel far.

It’s at the location of the original stables where the first rider would have left from. Up the street, a few blocks away is the Patee House Museum, which was the original headquarters of the Pony Express and still operates the annual re-ride every Spring.
