day begins at 9:30 a.m. with a military flag raising and cannon firing at the flagpole, setting the tone for a full schedule of historic demonstrations and family activities at the largest and best-known military post on the Northern Plains.
Visitors can witness live demonstrations of frontier life, including the Shane Fox Spanish Mustang and Mountain Man presentations at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. near the Bleachers North of Visitor Center. Historic games including sack races and a 50-yard dash will take place at 10 a.m. on the Parade Ground, with prizes awarded to winners.
