The National Pony Express Association’s annual Re-Ride is moving through eastern Wyoming today, reigniting the spirit and memory of the historic Pony Express.
This year, the Re-Ride is traveling east-bound from Sacramento, California. To St. Joseph, Missouri, with over 750 riders going 24 hours a day carrying the mochila on the 1,966 mile, eight state journey along the original Pony Express Trail.
The re-ride is expected to hit the Nebraska Wyoming Line around 2:30 this afternoon in Lyman, before passing the Scotts Bluff National Monument around 4:45 p.m.
The cavalry has an estimated time of arrival of 7:15 at Chimney Rock and will wrap up the day around midnight when they arrive in Sidney.
