Event Description

CASPER, Wyo. – The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is proud to welcome the 2025 Annual Re-Ride of the Pony Express on Tuesday, June 17, with riders expected to arrive at the Trails Center between 7 and 7:30 p.m.

Hosted by the National Pony Express Association, a non-profit organization committed to preserving and interpreting the Pony Express National Historic Trail, the annual re-ride brings to life the legendary mail route through a 10-day, cross-country journey.

This year’s ride travels west to east, beginning in Sacramento, Calif., on June 11 and concluding in St. Joseph, Mo., on June 21. More than 700 riders will participate, relaying the mail by horseback and making swift mochila exchanges at designated locations, including the Trails Center.

To celebrate this special event, the Trails Center will stay open until 8 p.m. on June 17, giving visitors a chance to witness the historic reenactment and explore the Trails Center’s engaging exhibits in a unique evening setting.

We invite the public to join us for this memorable occasion. Whether you’re a history buff or simply curious about the event, this is a chance to experience living history right here in Casper.

Please note, arrival times may vary slightly due to ride conditions. For real-time updates and to follow the riders’ progress, visit www.nationalponyexpress.org.
