I am 70 years old and I am riding my first Pony Express Re-ride. How did I not know that this organization even existed years ago? I am riding my 13 year Morgan Mare Vintage Firefly who I have only owned 7 months. I ask myself when I first got the notion to look into this awesome experience and I have to think it was finding the 3 Cent Pony Express stamps in my grandmothers stamp collection. I then got my first letter carried by the Pony from my friend, Continue Reading

I was so excited to come across the riders in Folsom. They were so nice to let me interrupt them with my questions. I was so thrilled to see them and as a past equestrian have so much respect for them and for all selflessly donating their time. Click on the Heading, above to see more pictures.

Here are pictures from dedicating the Pony Express station plaques back on the building of the original station on the side of the Old Salt Lake Tribune building. This was put on by the Utah State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. They had good attendance and put on a very fine dedication of the plaques. Utah team 2. Murray Park to Simpson Springs. Click the above Heading to advance to see more pictures and to also watch the YouTube video VIDEO. Team 2 Utah started out at Murray Park, a few minutes ahead of schedule. Good job, Utah Riders! I was the first rider out, on my wonderful 11year old appaloosa, Blackhawk. We swapped the mochilla in style, and left at speed. The first ride is down State Street, a major city artery. We ride in boots (Old Macs, front and hinds, and I make, Continue Reading

The first picture is the little old red schoolhouse on Malcom Dixon Road. Ron Norton, National Ham Radio Coordinator, is in the Red Subaru. This exchange is about 5 minutes from our home and is the place where we first got hooked on Pony Express. Outgoing rider mounted and ready for her ride is Denise Lockhart and the incoming rider ready to trailer her horse is Jenni Moser. Checking in is California Ham Radio coordinator Dennis Klaman in his Jeep. His duty is following our ride captain (and CA President), Continue Reading

Video Sadie and I were escorted along the trail by a big ole bull and his ladies. She enjoyed their company and called out to them when they ran out into the sage! This was her first time and my 11th year carrying the mail and what an adventure for her! Thank you NPEA. Looking forward to next year! Anne Martins Austin, NV Section 7.

It was an honor to see and meet some of the participants in the Re-ride event. The photos were taken at the Camp Floyd location in Fairfield UT. It was hot and windy but the riders did their jobs. I want to submit some pictures of the transfer taking place. One is of the arrival of the arriving rider and the other picture is the new rider (white hat) as she leaves on her portion of the ride. Thanks to all who participated in this event. Rulon Swensen, Taylorsville, Utah
