We had a glimpse of the Moon once in awhile but clouds didn’t let much of it shine through. The coming of dawn and sunrise in the desert was a welcome and beautiful sight. We had 10 cattle guards during the first 1/3 of the ride. Most of them are around the Fish Springs area, some of them were a half a mile to a mile apart. I had the ham radio operator help me with keeping track and opening the gates for the Riders to go around.
