Hello from Team 2! We had a great night-time ride from Murray Park (about 4500 S State Street, Salt Lake City) to the Wyoming border. The mail came in an hour and a half late (1030 pm) but was passed off to Wyoming on time (630 am). It was one of the smoothest rides I’ve seen, with everyone working together. Got to offer a heartfelt and well deserved thanks to the riders, horses, and support group from Utah Team 3. Through much confusion, ride schedule mix-ups, midday temps above 100 F, and despite missing a handful of our best riders, this group came through. We needed every horse and rider to make it, but everyone stepped up and worked through the problems to finish our run to Simpson Springs. And you ought to see the girl who drives our pilot car. GPS Mapping of Re-Ride Gets Off to a Late Start

The 2021 Re-Ride began on time, as the Pony took off from Old Sac. at 2:00pm local time. However, the technology of the GPS tracking proved more challenging for the NPEA Media Team. After realizing the signal was not coming through, the support personnel had to catch the Pony and re-program some buttons on the device, which is carried in the Pony’s mochila.
