Each year the National Pony Express Association hosts the annual Pony Express Re-Ride as a way of promoting and preserving the history of the famed Pony Express. While last year’s ride was cancelled due to the pandemic, this year the riders and horses were ready for the nearly 2,000-mile journey. Of course, one of the major stops along the route between Sacramento, California and St. Joseph, Missouri is none other than our town of Gothenburg – the Pony Express Capital of Nebraska.    Continue reading…
