Gothenburg would have lost historic landmark, economic growth if structure had burned

When June Blauvelt first noticed the charred logs on the east side of Gothenburg’s historic Pony Express Station, she didn’t recognize it as possible arson.

“I first noticed it on Saturday,” said Blauvelt, who has managed the station’s museum and gift shop for four years. “And I looked at it and thought, has that been there?” ….
