Riders set out across Jefferson County on Tuesday, riding from the southeast corner of the county to the Thayer County Line, as part of a ride to keep the memory of the Pony Express alive and well.

Dean Atkin, National President of the Pony Express Association, stopped at Rock Creek Station to see the hand off between two riders. He believes it is important to honor the history of the Pony Express because of the role it played in helping to build the nation.
